DALLAS, TX – December 8, 2015 – Today the Dallas Museum of Art announced the 25th anniversary season of Arts & Letters Live, the Museum’s literary and performing arts series. From January to June 2016, DMA Arts & Letters Live will feature 34 scheduled events with award-winning and bestselling authors, actors, and musicians. Widely acknowledged as a major contribution to Dallas’s cultural life, DMA Arts & Letters Live has featured more than 1,000 authors, actors, and performing artists at many sold-out events since its inception in 1992. This season features the series’ popular Texas Bound program (Texas actors reading short fiction by Texas writers), BooksmART programs for children and young adults, and events with special guests including Mary-Louise Parker, Pulitzer Prize-winner Tracy K. Smith, Rainn Wilson, Erik Larson, Padma Lakshmi, Elizabeth Gilbert, and a three-night event with David Sedaris.

There’s something to suit everyone’s taste, no matter whether you prefer literary fiction, nonfiction, memoir, humor, poetry, music, art, or dance,” said Carolyn Bess, Director of Programming and Arts & Letters Live at the Dallas Museum of Art. “Two highlights that dovetail with the DMA’s exhibitions and collections initiatives include the Texas Ballet Theater’s world premiere of a suite of new dances inspired by the exhibition Jackson Pollock: Blind Spots and a French Riviera fête focusing on the newly published connections between the Wendy and Emery Reves Collection and Coco Chanel, featuring curator Olivier Meslay and Chanel biographer Rhonda K. Garelick.”

The 25th DMA Arts & Letters Live season kicks off on January 11 at 7:30 p.m. with Mary Karr and Mary-Louise Parker in discussion about their work, including Karr’s recent book, The Art of Memoir, and the popular Lit, which is also a forthcoming Showtime series starring Parker as Mary Karr. Parker will also share excerpts from her literary debut, Dear Mr. You.

The VIP Experience for the “From Chanel to Reves” event on January 20 with DMA curator Olivier Meslay and author Rhonda K. Garelick includes priority seating and booksigning access, choice of one book, and a three-course dinner prior to the event in the Museum’s Founders Room featuring a French menu and wine; tickets are $150.
