Luncheon with DSO Assistant Conductor Maurice Cohn

A two-time recipient of the Solti Foundation U.S. Career Assistance Award, Maurice Cohn currently serves as Assistant Conductor for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and was recently named as the 11th Music Director of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra.

Cohn joined the DSO as Assistant Conductor (Marena & Roger Gault Chair) in September 2021. In his time with the orchestra, he has conducted family concerts, youth programs and special events as well as acts as cover conductor for Music Director Fabio Luisi and all guest conductors on the Texas Instruments Classical Series. Cohn led the world premiere of Mason Bates’s Philharmonia Fantastique in October 2021, and he conducted the DSO for the Mavericks’ Dirk Nowitzki jersey retirement event in January 2022.

Maestro Cohn is a frequent and favorite presenter at the Guild-sponsored Performance Preludes, a lively series of music talks offered on a complimentary basis before all DSO classical concerts.
