Celebrate Pride through the power of poetry and performance at this evening of spoken word hosted by artist and community leader Veronica Pamindanan. Featuring performances by select poets alongside an open mic, this program creates space for artists and community members to share stories of identity, resilience, and belonging. Whether performing or listening, participants are invited to experience the transformative power of language as a tool for healing, connection, and self-expression.
Veronica Pamindanan is the founder of Talk Your Creativity and is a Filipino American spoken word artist, event coordinator, and community leader. She is dedicated to uplifting emerging talent and serving as a cultural bridge within the Filipino community. Her work is grounded in themes of healing, identity, and transformation, using poetry as a tool for connection and empowerment.

Join us for our 9th annual Pride Block Party in collaboration with the Dallas Arts District, the Nasher Sculpture Center, and the Crow Museum of Asian Art. This year, the DMA is doing Pride with a little bit more funk. You can expect disco vibes all night long and a special spotlight on Black queer culture in celebration of Juneteenth! Come to groove, explore, and experience art just as diverse and one-of-a-kind as Texas. Look for a special performance at our annual Kiki Ball featuring icons from the Dallas Ballroom scene. Meet us on the dance floor in your best retro glam!

Please note: Outside food, beverage, and furniture are not allowed (blankets are permitted). ’til Midnight takes place rain or shine. Concerts will be moved indoors in the event of inclement weather.

Because your safety is important to the Dallas Arts District, the following policies are in place for the 2025 Pride Block Party. Come celebrate Pride with us through the lens of the arts!
BAGS ARE DISCOURAGED FOR THIS EVENT.
All bags allowed to enter the buildings OR THE FOOTPRINT, will be inspected and no prohibited items will be allowed. Permitted bags are 12” x 10” x 6” or smaller. Parents with children may enter with an appropriate shoulder carry style diaper bag. Medical bags are also permitted and are also subject to inspection.
NO luggage, NO duffle bags; NO backpacks; NO LARGE TOTES; NO LARGE CAMERA BAGS; BAGS larger than 12″x10″x6″ will NOT be allowed in the buildings or IN the event footprint, except for performers, whose bags will be subject to inspection at the appropriate entrance.
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:
- Firearms
- Dangerous devices (tasers, stun guns, mace, pepper spray, fixed blade knives, knives with a blade longer than 4 inches, batons, knuckles, selfie-sticks, and clubs, etc.)
- SPRAY paints, PERMANENT markers.
- Alcoholic beverages
- ILLEGAL DRUGS (No loose pills – Medications must be in a prescription bottle.
- Drones
- Coolers (hard/soft side)
- Skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, bicycles, helmets
- Selfie sticks are not permitted.
- NO BAD ATTITUDES
Animals or pets of any kind are prohibited except for trained service animals and service animals in training for guests with disabilities. Qualified service animals must provide a service. Under the ADA, comfort is not considered a service. Service animals are welcome and must always remain on a leash or in a harness.
NO OUTSIDE food or beverages! Unless needed for small children or medical reasons. Containers such as bottles, cans, thermos bottles, or plastic coolers are not permitted.
The guest must throw the prohibited item in the trash or return the item to his/her vehicle. They will not be held by security.
We reserve the right to deny entry to visibly impaired and/or intoxicated guests. Any intoxicated guests causing a disturbance during the event will be asked to leave the footprint and may be subject to arrest.
All Guests must always maintain reasonable and appropriate behavior. Guests using offensive language or engaging in disorderly conduct may be ejected from the event and may be subject to arrest.
The unlicensed carry of firearms is prohibited at all Dallas Pride Block Party events (Tex. Penal Code § 30.05).
The licensed, open carry of handguns is prohibited at all Dallas Pride Block Party events (Tex. Penal Code § 30.07).
The licensed, concealed carry of handguns is prohibited at all Dallas Pride Block Party Events (Tex. Penal Code § 30.06).
