The virtuosic dancers of Dallas Black Dance Theatre have mesmerized audiences across 15 countries, including two Olympic Cultural events since 1976. The company is the 10th largest minority arts organization in America and the fourth largest black dance company in the nation. DBDT is a contemporary modern dance company comprised of 13 professional dancers who perform a mixed repertory of modern, jazz, ethnic and spiritual works by nationally and internationally renowned choreographers. DBDT: Encore! is the professional training company for DBDT featuring eight artists of rising excellence from across the nation. Dallas Black Dance Theatre is located in the historic Moorland YMCA building in the Dallas [readmore] Arts District that serves as the primary home for its dance studios, training facilities, and administrative offices. Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s performance home is the Wyly Theatre in the AT&T Performing Arts Center.
